Updating drivers for devcon failed
Is this what is meant by repeating the process in step 8? When I try this to reinstall the others, I keep getting the same error message:"The following hardware was not installed: Microsoft IP_HTTPS Platform Adapter An error occurred during the installation of the device.
Also, I noticed that this wan (ATW) was manufactured by AOL, who I no longer have. This operation returned because the timeout period expired."Tried everything people were suggesting in the comments too, and nothing is working. An error occurred during the installation of the device.
Run netsh int ip reset c:\and reboot the system again (Resetting the TCP/IP stack) 21.
Here is what worked for me: Re-install ing WAN miniport (IP) device- First restore the backup key you deleted from the registry - steps 3-6 were the culprits.
I got stuck after I uninstalled them because after using to install each miniport (this site helped me do it I didn't know where to find the "update driver" file (they didn't update after I rebooted the computer). If some one has 301 Error: "This device is not working properly because Windows can not load the correct driver for it.
(Code 31)"Here is the manual how to fix• Open the Device Manager.• Right-click mini-WAN port (Network Monitor)• Click Update Driver ...• Select Search for drivers on this computer• Select Choose from a list of device drivers on my computer• Clear the checkbox Show compatible hardware• Select any other driver.
After a reboot, Windows attempted to install drivers for these.
It reported failure for each, but still, Device Manager showed the proper Display Name for each of the above.
Search for updating drivers for devcon failed:
STEP -A- so before you start reinstalling - restore the registry key you might have saved before step 6 by exporting the key before delete. this all is crap (ok not crap.it does not give full info) i found it very easy to do it from this site...i can easily change files on (without any restriction)..
